Why I work at the Bao Institute for Healthy Living

Many people have asked me what I do for a living, but very few of them realize why I do what I do. My job as a Personal Trainer at the Bao Institute affords me very unique opportunities and is more rewarding than most would realize. Here’s why.

Firstly, I truly love the environment that I work in. Brian and Elaina Bahm have done their best to create a unique facility where people of Georgetown can feel a part of welcoming atmosphere. Most “gyms” are happy to take your monthly membership dues and wish you good luck. That doesn’t happen at our company. Our ownership is not happy unless our members receive regular attention from the Bao staff and have established policies to ensure that people have access to our trainers’ expertise.

That brings me to my next point: our staff. I am fortunate to work with people who really care about the wellbeing of our membership. Whether you’re talking to the people at the front counter, the instructors or the trainers, they are always looking to promote a balanced healthy lifestyle. I’ve seen our people go the extra mile for our members so many times that it’s almost unnoticed now! We all work and learn together to help enrich the workout experience at our location and I am always impressed with the knowledge that our training staff has. We only hire really qualified people!

Finally, the major reason why I do what I do is the clientele here. I am very fortunate to train terrific people and have created bonds with many of them that honestly surpass typical relationships. I never feel like I’m only training them because it’s my job and that’s what I’m paid to do. If that’s the reason you’re here, you wouldn’t last! You end up knowing what’s going on in their lives. You know when they’re having a bad day, how their kids are doing, how their work life is going, what’s happening in their relationships and what really makes them who they are. People open up to you on an emotional level when you stress their body heavily and you have to respect that trust. Many times, people train to satisfy very personal and emotional reasons, so at the end of the day, you may know them better than many of their closest friends! How many jobs can offer that level of job satisfaction? I’m very fortunate to have a job that impacts people in such a personal way and I’m certain that my colleagues here feel exactly the same way. If they didn’t, we’d have found others who did already.

So I hope that by reading this, you have a bit better idea why the Bao Institute and our team are unique. Thanks for taking the time to read this and stay healthy!
